Meredith Harbison is a passionate advocate for justice with a strong foundation in legal research, drafting, litigation, and public service. Her work spans family law, probate law, civil rights, employment discrimination, and education law—areas where she brings not only legal knowledge but genuine empathy for the individuals and communities she serves.
Meredith earned her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2022. During her time there, she served as both Senior Symposium Editor and Executive Editor of the University of Louisville Law Review. Her scholarly article, Emerging Mental Health Courts: The Intersection of Mental Illness, Substance Abuse, Poverty, and Incarceration, was published in Volume 60 and reflects her deep interest in how legal systems affect vulnerable populations. She was awarded the Leon Siedman Award for Outstanding Commitment to Law and Public Service and received multiple CALI Awards for academic excellence.
Meredith’s legal experience includes a wide range of roles—from legal clerkships focused on civil rights, employment discrimination, and education law, to courtroom appearances and mediations in family law and probate law cases after obtaining licensure. Her background also includes valuable work with the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights and Kentucky Legal Aid, giving her firsthand insight into the systemic barriers many individuals face when seeking justice.
Meredith’s legal approach is shaped by both academic distinction and practical courtroom experience. Her ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable strategies makes her a trusted advocate for clients navigating difficult and deeply personal legal matters. She is admitted to practice in Kentucky and Virginia and is an active member of each state’s Bar Association and Young Lawyers Division.
Outside the courtroom, Meredith is just as committed to cultivating balance and joy. She enjoys swimming, needlepointing, and reading thrillers. She’s also a self-professed foodie who loves trying new restaurants—and is often accompanied by Myrtle, her rescue German Shepherd, on weekend adventures.
